(Patria) - Two days ago, Slaven Kovačević and Azra Zornić defended the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg against the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative, and also our neighbours.
On one side, official Zagreb, together with the acting agent of Bosnia and Herzegovina, state and entity ministers of justice, and the High Representative, against Slaven Kovačević, who sued the state for unequal rights of citizens to vote and stand for election.
The so-called Bosnian delegation based its argument before the Court on the rights of constituent peoples, and did not have a Bosniak in its team, for which it was questioned before the Court.
About this ruling, Azra Zornić, an appellant before the European Court who was on Slaven Kovačević's team, spoke today on the show "Good Day, Bosnia and Herzegovina" on Hayat Television.
- The first impression regarding the defendant side is that we were at the very least discriminated against. Our side had 30 minutes to present, while the agents of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who speak the same language, had 60 minutes, plus Schmidt's representative had 30 minutes. They had 90 minutes to overturn our ruling - said Zornić.
She emphasises that they were not fighting against our homeland, but against those who are trying to divide it.
- Our goal was and remains equal rights for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of ethnic or any other affiliation. We are fighting for, not against, the homeland, and in a way that all citizens are equal in every respect - states Zornić.
She also touched upon details of the presentation before the European Court of Human Rights. She says that Monika Mijić, as an illegal agent, did not hide her bias towards the HDZ, and in her entire presentation did not provide the Court with any new fact that was not already known at the time of the first-instance ruling. Therefore, she is surprised that the Court approved the second-instance proceedings given this fact.
- Željko Komšić was in the audience as support for Kovačević. Monika stated that she would be happy if a member of the Presidency for whom she voted were in the audience as her support. Where is the impartiality in that?
She admitted that, by law, citizens cannot vote for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the House of Peoples and that they are discriminated against in this regard, and she referred to Schmidt's report before the UN, which states that the political situation was more stable at the time of the Sejdić-Finci and Zornić rulings.
She repeated Schmidt's statement that if this ruling is upheld, it will lead to the disintegration of the state. They are engaging in speculation and trying to tell the Court that the ruling would lead to war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond - says Zornić.
She believes that Schmidt is a pawn of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and that he "is stepping outside the framework of his mandate and acting on the orders of Croatia, without the consent of the PIC members, at least the majority of them."
Regarding Schmidt's statement about the destabilisation of the state, Zornić says she sees it as a threat.
- Mijić quoted Schmidt's address before the UN. That is a threat and an exertion of terrible political pressure on the International Court, which is unacceptable. Neither she nor Schmidt have any legal arguments; these are pure speculations - notes Zornić.
She adds that no one should speculate about when the ruling will be delivered and what the outcome will be.
- As a legalist, I have full confidence in the work of the Court and expect a fair ruling - said Zornić.
She emphasises that the entire presentation of the defendant side and its satellites was full of controversies.
- The public is right when it categorises Schmidt's actions against the state and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Schmidt actively participates in the partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the intention of fully implementing the Plenković-Vučić plan - Zornić pointed out.
She also commented on the intentions of Croatia and Plenković, who financially supported the Court.
- The Court must not accept any donations from anyone. Plenković's intention was to bribe the court with a donation in order to overturn the "Kovačević" ruling and diminish the effect of our already five final rulings, all with the aim of political and territorial aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina - concluded Zornić.
