Abuse of assistance in voting in the elections in Trnovo RS

Observers of the "Under the Magnifying Glass" Coalition filed two objections to the election process in the early elections held in the municipality of Trnovo RS by 3 PM.

These concern providing assistance to voters who, in the opinion of the "Under the Magnifying Glass" Coalition observers, did not need assistance at all. According to the Election Law of BiH, assistance in voting can be used by persons who are blind, illiterate, or physically incapable. Polling station committees at polling stations Primary School Trnovo (142B001) and Wood Factory (142B003) allowed unnecessary assistance in as many as 32 cases, suggesting organized abuse with the aim of influencing the free will of voters. After the observers filed objections in the Record of the Polling Station Committee's work, this practice ceased.

The mobile team of the "Under the Magnifying Glass" Coalition has visited all polling stations so far and also responds to reports of suspected irregularities. In addition to the above, a larger group of people was observed gathering in front of the polling stations.

The Coalition calls on the citizens of this municipality to come out and vote. Polling stations close at 7 PM. Citizens of the municipality of Trnovo RS can report all observed irregularities to the phone number 060 340 4832.

The "Under the Magnifying Glass" Coalition plans to release its next press release on the voting process, the closing of polling stations, and possible incidents throughout the election day at 9 PM.

Early elections for the mayor of the municipality are being held in Trnovo Municipality, after the sudden death of the SNSD mayor Goran Vujičić. 

Five polling stations (four regular and one for voting on unconfirmed ballots) opened this morning at 7 AM, and one mobile team also started its work.

According to the Central Voters' Register for Trnovo Municipality, 1,409 voters are registered, of which 57 voters are registered to vote by mail.

Dragomir Gagović from SNSD and Nenad Mišović from SDS are competing for the position of the new mayor in Trnovo.
