War criminal Vojislav Šešelj lands at the airport

A few minutes before 1 PM, war criminal Vojislav Šešelj landed at Belgrade airport, having boarded a plane for Belgrade from Amsterdam airport, reports the BH news agency Patria.

Šešelj stated that politics is his priority, followed by treatment, even though metastases were discovered on his liver. Šešelj was released from Scheveningen on temporary leave due to his poor health condition.

- I am looking forward to returning. Politics is my priority, then treatment. I have two metastases, but it's not as bad as people think - Šešelj told "Blic".

He is expected to arrive in Serbia around 1 PM, after spending 12 years in The Hague detention center without a verdict.

Supporters of Vojislav Šešelj are already gathering at Belgrade's "Nikola Tesla" airport. A large number of news crews are also waiting for the leader of the radicals, with several hundred people carrying flags and banners with his image.

Security has already formed an aisle at the arrivals terminal, through which Šešelj is expected to pass. It was previously announced that no state officials would greet Šešelj.

The Radicals have announced a "welcome rally for Šešelj" for Saturday, November 14, at noon in Republic Square in Belgrade.

The indictment at the Hague Tribunal charges the leader of the Serbian Radicals and Chetnik Duke with crimes in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Vojvodina. Šešelj is accused of participating in systematic and widespread attacks on Croatian, Muslim, and other non-Serb civilian populations in Eastern and Western Slavonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Vojvodina.
