Crime in Sjeverin: Notorious Avengers killed 16 Bosniaks, photographed them while torturing

On Thursday, October 22, a commemoration will be held in Sjeverin on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the suffering of 16 Bosniak civilians, writes the news agency Patria.

On that day in 1992, residents of Sjeverin set off by bus to Priboj, along a route that partly passes through the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the place of Mioče on the territory of BiH, members of the notorious unit „Avengers“, commanded by Milan Lukić, stopped the bus and after checking identities forcibly took away 16 Bosniaks. The victims were taken to Višegrad where they were psychologically and physically abused, and later shot. In the Vilna Vlas hotel in Višegrad, they even photographed the abuse inflicted on them.

For this crime, the District Court in Belgrade in July 2005 sentenced Milan Lukić, Oliver Krsmanović and Dragutin Dragićević to 20 years in prison each, and Đorđe Šević to 15 years in prison.

Milan Lukić was arrested in Argentina in early August 2005 and extradited to the Hague Tribunal where he was sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes committed in Višegrad.
