GOLDEN SEPTEMBER Inform Yourself About Childhood Cancer and Help Sick Children

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Association "Heart for Children with Cancer" is also marking Golden September this year – a month dedicated to raising awareness about childhood cancer with a series of activities during the month of September under the slogan "Be Golden".

The struggle that children with cancer, as well as their families, go through is arduous, difficult, and long, and often after recovery, there are numerous consequences of the treatment itself that they have to deal with.

"Precisely during this, our important month, we want to highlight the problems faced by children and families after intensive hospital treatment and their needs after leaving the hospital. The goal of Golden September is to raise awareness about all aspects of the fight against childhood cancer, both during their hospital stay and during their return to their home environment after treatment. We had many activities in September. We visited Mostar, Tuzla, Bihać, and Zenica. We wanted to color this September gold, raise the awareness of our society, and send a strong message that there are different lives full of difficulties after cancer, both for children who are successfully cured and for the families of children who lose the battle," says the Association Heart for Children with Cancer. 

The campaign was also supported by many public figures such as the Association's ambassador Amra Džeko, Edin Džeko, Jala Brat, Šejla Ramović, Amer Kadić, and many others.

Golden September is nearing its end, and an event in Sarajevo is upcoming. The Association's info booths with golden masks and golden ribbons, as well as an installation of golden balloons, will be set up today from 12 PM to 5 PM on the plateau in front of SCC and inside SCC, where citizens will have the opportunity to learn about childhood cancer, the problems they face, but also to support children with cancer by purchasing a golden ribbon and a specially designed golden mask.

Therefore, we invite the media and citizens to "gold-plate" this September with us and help the voices of children with cancer and their families be heard even further.
