Life Battle at a Turning Point: Ernesa Kunalić Needs Help from Good People

After a long battle by Ernesa Kunalić against the most severe disease, cancer, her husband Admir addressed the public via social networks with a touching letter, reports the Patria agency. 

- As many of you probably already know, and some may not, my wife, Ernesa, has been battling breast cancer for some time. The two of us, along with our families, have been fighting this battle all this time and truly tried to cope with it on our own.

However, even after three cycles of chemotherapy, two surgeries, radiation, and the great and selfless help we received at KCUS, our fight against her cancer and its metastases is not yet over. We have reached a point where we cannot continue without your help. Ernesa urgently needs to start receiving therapy - a new, smart drug, Olaparib (Lynparza).

This is a drug that was recently approved, but unfortunately is not yet covered by health insurance in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ernesa would need to take this drug continuously for a year, which requires about 60,000 euros. This is an amount we are unable to provide on our own.

It is not easy to decide to take this step and publicly ask for help, but we owe it to our little daughter Nađa to do absolutely everything in our power so that her mother can recover, and so that she can continue to be the one who guides her through life with a motherly, steady hand. And I believe, and I am sure, that with the help of all of you, this problem we have will become a smaller problem because we will have good people by our side – said Admir Kunalić.
