"Today is Friday the 13th and it won't be lucky for some, but I am convinced that this is a lucky day for BiH," said SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, on the 13th day of December last year.
Izetbegović did not make a slip of the tongue, he just mixed up lucky and unlucky. It was a lucky day for some, and for most in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a Friday that bodes ill.
Only those close to Bakir, and those close to those close to Bakir, and the second, third, and others under the wing of the Party of Democratic Action, the Alliance for a Better Future, and the Democratic Front celebrated.
For everyone not in that circle, whether in politics or not, that event on Friday the 13th was an indication of déjà vu, a horror they have been living for years. And they were not mistaken.
A new horror on the repertoire of our reality has begun.
Government Falls
Although he claimed that the budget would be adopted first and then the KS Government would be overthrown, Izetbegović actually meant the opposite. Nothing strange from the new trademark of Friday the 13th, witches are out.
And then the fall of the KS Government dragged on, and the SDA became nervous. The price is not important, the money that the SDA - SBB - DF group gave to honorable turncoats can easily be compensated, just to sit in the chairs if God wills it. And God gave Bakir his own, Edin left, Mario came.
The budget has not yet arrived. It is being discussed as this text is being written, almost three months after Bakir Izetbegović's announcement.
Council of Ministers and NATO
Shortly after the formation of the coalition, Friday the 13th brought us the Council of Ministers. In fact, we got a crippled Council of Ministers, but is there anything that the SDA advocates for that isn't crippled? We also got a path to NATO, or we didn't get it, or we don't know if we got it.
Along with Izetbegović, Željko Komšić, the leader of the Democratic Front, a pendant in the coalition(s), also harassed us.
"There is no Council of Ministers without the ANP," Komšić used to say before Friday's coalition. As I said, we got the Council, albeit incomplete, but we didn't get the ANP. Or we did. Now figure out what we got. ANP, Reform Program, or a colorful lie. And our Željko is the same, you don't know if he's a great patriot or a big colorful lie. Arguments about whether the Reform Program is the ANP, a copy of the ANP, or a victory for Milorad Dodik are still active today.
Asim from Kum
"What do you need help with if God wills it. We'll do it now. We're like from Kum. Osmica, Traca... Skaka... Bakir..." And caricature is enough for everyone to know that these are the words from one of the most popular works on YouTube. Music is a thing of the past, the murky SDA swamp is trending.
He who laughs at another falls into problems himself. And the SDA is in trouble after the video. On one hand, rebels who are not satisfied with what they took as SDA usurers, and on the other hand, usurers who would eliminate the former. Their war has brought some of the dirt to the surface, based on which we can only guess the whole truth.
That is, in short, what we got between two FRIDAYS. True, we also got a political crisis at all levels where the SDA - SBB - DF coalition rules.
Crisis as a currency
Only citizens feel the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For those in power and around power, the crisis, although they claim to be fighting it, serves as a leitmotif of political existence. They solve every popular unrest with crises, they answer the question of where the money is, where the jobs are, where and why Bosnians and Herzegovinians are leaving with crises.
And they are leaving in large numbers, and no one, not even the Friday the 13th coalition, cares about it.
This coalition doesn't care about the Guinness record of Mostar, the city of cases. That is the city on the Neretva River, most similar to North Korea. Their leader is not Kim, but Ljubo Bešlić. If they ever win elections, it will take a lot of effort to explain to them how to vote. Mostar residents last voted for local government 12 years ago.
They agree to agree on how to (not) agree. True, on the Bosniak side, this story is led exclusively by the SDA and its leader, because Dragan Čović treats others as pendants to the coalition, so he does not want them at the negotiating table.
Besides Mostar, from Friday, December 13th until today, we don't have a Government of the Federation of BiH either. In fact, we have a government, perhaps the oldest in Europe. That is the government that has been ruling for almost six years.
We don't have highways, factories, or security. Our healthcare and judiciary are bad. Corruption, crime, nepotism are abundant, among the worst in Europe and the world. Our security is not at a satisfactory level, nor is the air.
And to all our problems, COVID-19, or the coronavirus, has been added.
Therefore, between two black Fridays, only members of the Friday the 13th coalition are happy.
All others are like characters from the series The Walking Dead.
