Winter conditions in higher areas, increased traffic in cities

(Patria) - Road traffic in Bosnia and Herzegovina this morning is on dry or wet asphalt, with good visibility. We warn about sections in higher mountain areas, where in the morning hours, due to low temperatures, icy patches may be encountered. Increased vehicle frequency is expected again today, especially in larger urban areas.

Be as careful as possible and maintain a safe distance between vehicles. Do not consume alcoholic beverages if you are going to drive. Take care of your safety and the safety of other road users.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is permitted for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

Works are underway on the Kladanj-Stupari main road, due to which traffic is carried out in one lane, with alternating passage of vehicles, every day (except Sunday) from 7 AM to 5 PM.

At border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic is currently proceeding with delays of 10 to 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new European Union entry and exit system (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. From December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all vehicle categories. Traffic for all heavy goods vehicles is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.

Today from 12 PM until January 2, 2026, midnight, the transport of explosives will be prohibited on the roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
