Winter claims first lives: Two men found frozen in front of their homes

The bodies of two men over 50 years old were found this morning around eight o'clock in front of their homes in Zaječar, one in the Lubničko brdo neighborhood, the other in the Grljanski put neighborhood, Serbian media report, as carried by the Patria news agency.

The initial assumption of doctors is that both died from the cold. There are no visible signs of violent death on them.

The two men, who were found frozen in front of their homes this morning around eight o'clock, died of a heart attack.

The autopsy, which has just been completed, unequivocally confirmed that in both cases it was a heart issue, but the cold, which in Zaječar last night was around minus 20 degrees, likely contributed to it.

Members of the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia rescued 15 people from six cars yesterday in the Zaječar district, as well as a married couple with two children aged three and 11.
