Žili: If we go to the European Championship, inshallah, I will speak Bosnian in France

When he came to the position of coach of the BiH national team, Mehmed Baždarević had no special requests, except that one of his assistants be his long-time associate Stephane Gilli, who has been in BiH for almost a year, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

In addition to a professional approach to coaching, Žili shows great respect for every team member, regardless of who it is. He considers the interview for the official website of the Association as part of his duties and, like other staff members, the only thing he asks is when he needs to come. During the break between lunch and preparations for the afternoon training, Žili spoke about how difficult it is to work with Baždarević, about the team, how he feels in Zenica, and what he can say in Bosnian.

He has known Baždarević for 15 years, and has been working with him for 12-13 years.

- He is my friend, but I respect him because he is my boss, but we have a different relationship.

Žili said that the players are working hard and only want to work and are very motivated, which makes him happy.

He also states that he enjoys BiH, and good results have been achieved since he arrived.

- Every game is important, and I believe the players are focused on the game. We need to be mentally strong, tactically, technically, but I think a bigger battle will take place between them and us in our heads. I am sure that our players will be ready for this match - said Žili before the Dragons' match against Ireland tomorrow in the playoffs for the 2016 European Championship in France.

- I really like Bosnia, people are kind to me.

He says that in almost a year since he has been in BiH, he has learned to say a few things in Bosnian: good luck, second ball, two touches, see you later. He also states that it was easier for him to learn football terms.

- I hope I will learn more because it will be easier for me. It's not easy, I'm trying, and if we go to the European Championship, inshallah, I will speak Bosnian in France - said Žili, who is a native Frenchman, with a smile, which you can hear at the 3rd minute of the recording.
