Žiga: Bosniaks seem to be beyond reason, heading into a tailspin!

A society that itself was exposed to terrible violence, murders, genocide, destruction, persecution quickly lost its sensitivity for such things, said sociologist Jusuf Žiga, commenting on the attitude of the Bosnian public towards events in Gaza, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Namely, at peaceful protests in several cities in BiH against the killings and violence in Gaza, there was no mass gathering, and the number of citizens barely exceeded two hundred. On the other hand, at today's bullfight in Čevljanovići, the arrival of 50,000 people is expected, and that is, as the organizers stated, a "more modest attendance than usual." Sociologist Žiga said that this could be explained by the fact that a person desires some kind of comfort and ease, and in that sense needs not only not to be hungry but also something else.

- A person needs to have some kind of games in which they can falsely, truly, or however satisfy that inner, spiritual side. That is, conditionally speaking, a kind of opportunism in the very being of a person - Žiga states for Patria.

He also noted that such things are fascinating even for the most serious analysts and are difficult to understand.

- Especially because it concerns a society that itself went through some kind of suffering, as is the case with BiH. That is, as one would say, beyond reason and some kind of human tendency towards a tailspin. But in any case, that does not mean one should seek an alibi for the lack of sensitivity - concluded Žiga.
