Zenica Marathon: Oldest participant Smriko (79) and youngest Imamović (3) ran through the streets

On the streets of Zenica, a half-marathon and city race were organized today by the association "Zenički maraton", reports a reporter from the Patria news agency.

- This is the third year we have organized the marathon. All other members of the association run except me, I have to keep everything under control. Today we were supposed to have a little over 200 participants, but due to bad weather, we have 117 participants, of which 48 are in the half-marathon - said Mirza Džananović, technical secretary of the association "Zenički maraton".

The oldest participant is Zuhdija Smriko, aged 79, and the youngest is Ali Imamović, only 3 years old. The half-marathon is 21.5 km long, and the city race is 5 and 10 kilometers long.

- I thought about running five or 10 km, but I decided on the half-marathon. My wish is to run the half-marathon and see for the first time how much time I need for it, so I will aim to improve that. This is also an excellent opportunity for socializing; I haven't seen some friends for years - says Arnel Kalušić, former BH karate representative.
