Zenica: From the next academic year, study program Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies

(Patria) - Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) Mirza Mušija held a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Zenica, Farzet Bikić, and Vice-Deans Raza Sunulahpašić and Adnan Mujkanović.

The topic of the meeting was the further development of the University of Zenica, with a special focus on launching new, market-relevant study programs, and on this occasion, the introduction of the new study program Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies was announced.

- I am pleased that after today's meeting with the management of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, we can announce that we are developing the University of Zenica through a new study program which I am sure will be relevant and interesting to future students.

This is proof that the Government of ZDK wants the development of the University of Zenica and that certain financial issues should not be an obstacle to its progress - stated Prime Minister Pivić.

He praised the faculty management for their proactive approach, where they are not only thinking about the development of their faculty but also about the development of the University as a whole.

- Our goal is for the University of Zenica to regain its former glory, to be recognized in scientific research, and to offer students top conditions for education. The Government of ZDK will support all those who contribute to the development of UNZE with concrete results - stated Pivić.

He reminded that studying at the University of Zenica is among the most affordable in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the Government and the Assembly of ZDK allocate more than 18 million KM annually for the financing of the University.



Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of ZDK Mirza Mušija emphasized that the University of Zenica is one of the key priorities of the Government.

- Today we have made significant progress. Our Government has set ambitious goals in the field of higher education, and one of the key priorities is the development of the University of Zenica. In cooperation with the faculties, we are developing study programs that will be attractive and competitive in the labor market - explained Mušija.

The minister emphasized that the Government of ZDK has given its consent for the launch of the new study program.

- The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences has done quality preparations, and the Ministry and the Government of ZDK have given the green light for these activities.

Our next step is the promotion of the study program to attract new students, because the University of Zenica offers extremely favorable study conditions, including scholarships, accommodation, and almost free education. We are not spending money - we are investing in knowledge - added Mušija.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Zenica, Farzet Bikić, expressed his satisfaction with the launch of the new study program.

- This is happy news for the University of Zenica, for our Faculty, future students, and the economic sector. It is an extremely attractive study program, Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, for which I am convinced will have great interest from the first year - emphasized Bikić.

He thanked the Government of ZDK for their support and pointed out that the new study program will be available from the academic year 2026/2027, inviting future students and their parents to inform themselves in time about enrollment at the University of Zenica.
