An earthquake of magnitude 7.9 on the Richter scale was recorded today southwest of the island of Sumatra. Indonesian authorities have issued a tsunami warning, reports the Patria News Agency.
The United States Geological Survey announced that the earthquake occurred at 12:49 PM Central European Time at a depth of only 10 kilometers. A tsunami warning is in effect, and according to initial information, there are no casualties, writes Index.
