An earthquake of magnitude 7.7 on the Richter scale was recorded off the coast of Chile, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a tsunami warning, reports the BBC, as carried by Patria.
The Center also announced that dangerous waves are possible along coasts located up to 1,000 kilometers from the earthquake's epicenter.
Reuters reports that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers.
