Željo celebrated with a brilliant performance in Široki and returned to the top spot

ŠIROKI BRIJEG, (Patria) - The derby match of the 8th round of the BHT Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina was played tonight at Pecara between Široki Brijeg and Željezničar. The guests overwhelmed the hosts, and after 90 minutes of play the score was 0:3. The Blues from Grbavica returned to the top position.

The hosts started the match better. In the third minute, Bagarić threatened Kjosevski, and just two minutes later Čabraja also had a good attempt. The same player shot from a free kick in the 10th minute, but there was no change in the score.

In the 20th minute, Ivan Čurjurić assisted, and Sulejman Krpić shot. However, Luka Bilobrk stopped the attempt by the Blues' striker. The home fans, "Škripari", celebrated their 22nd birthday with a flare display that caused the match to be interrupted for three minutes.

In the 27th minute, Mladen Veselinović missed an almost certain goal. Dženan Zajmović provided a brilliant assist, but Veselinović missed an open goal.

In the 38th minute, Zajmović threatened, and Bilobrk sent the ball into a corner. Jovan Blagojević took the corner kick, and in the home team's penalty area, Matej Rodin was the best positioned and scored for 1:0. That was the result at halftime.

In the second half, the first excitement came in front of Željezničar's goal. Čabraja headed the ball, which hit Siniša Stevanović's hand. The hosts asked for a penalty, but the referee did not respond.

Željezničar scored another goal in the 58th minute. Anel Šabanadžović fought for a ball in Široki Brijeg's penalty area, leaving Asim Zec with the easier task. The winger of Željezničar beat Bilobrk for 2:0.

Just two minutes later, we saw Željezničar's strongest weapon in action. Pavić assisted from the left side, and Sulejman Krpić continued his scoring streak and scored for 3:0.

Željezničar was left with one player less 20 minutes before the end of the match. Miloš Bakrač fouled a Široki player who was going alone towards Kjosevski, and the referee quite justifiably showed the Montenegrin a direct red card.

Until the end of the match, Kjosevski preserved his clean sheet with a phenomenal save in the 81st minute, so the Blues quite deservedly recorded three more points without conceding a goal. Željezničar is now the league leader with 17 points, while Široki Brijeg is in fourth place with 13 points.
