Željezničar disappoints fans again, GOŠK triumphs at Grbavica

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - For the fourth consecutive match, including the Cup encounter against Široki Brijeg, Željezničar has not tasted the sweetness of victory, even though it seemed that the match against GOŠK at Grbavica was the ideal opportunity to emerge from the crisis.

However, the Gabeljani had a completely different idea; with new head coach Mato Neretljak, they came to Sarajevo to engage in an open game with the Blues, instead of trying to secure a draw with a rigid defensive bunker.

The guests' courage paid off, as they secured three valuable points, while the nightmare for Željezničar, who once again displayed a striking lack of creativity and quality in this match, continued.

The opening minutes passed without major excitement, with the home side enjoying slightly more territorial initiative. Still, GOŠK did not appear inferior; in fact, the Gabeljani missed the chance to punish two major errors by Željezničar's defense. However, a more concrete approach paid off in the 27th minute, when Đajić headed the ball into the far corner of Željezničar's goal, following a corner cross from Vega.

The home side continued to struggle with the ball and themselves, but failed to create a good opportunity by the end of the first half.

The second half was played in the same vein. Željezničar did appear somewhat more aggressive, applying pressure, but still failed to seriously threaten the guests' goalkeeper Kozić.

In the end, the Blues managed to equalize in the 84th minute, with Krpić scoring from the penalty spot. Dacić had been pulled down earlier, but there is a big question as to whether the foul occurred inside the box. Referee Sabrija Topalović's decision will be talked about for a long time.

However, in stoppage time, a penalty was awarded to GOŠK! Kulović was brought down, and substitute Ramić converted from the spot to secure a great triumph for the visitors!

Željezničar's players were sent off to the locker room with jeers. GOŠK extinguished their own crisis with a major success, while for Željezničar, the agony continued in the worst possible way, with a home defeat to a team from the lower part of the table…
