Zelensky demands apology and compensation from Tehran

(Patria) - Ukraine expects a full investigation, full admission of guilt, and compensation from Iran after they admitted to shooting down a Ukrainian plane, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. 

"We expect assurances that Iran is ready for a full and open investigation, bringing those responsible to justice, handing over the bodies of the victims, paying compensation, as well as an official apology through diplomatic channels," Zelensky explained. 

Zelensky said that Iran admitted guilt for shooting down the Ukrainian plane, but that Ukraine insists on a full admission of guilt.

Let us recall, Iran previously said that it mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane, killing all 176 passengers and crew members.

Tehran expressed deep regret over the accident, although it initially denied responsibility after Iranian missiles hit US targets in Iraq.
