Green Berets: We are certain that wartime minister Bakir Alispahić would stand in defence of BiH even now

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Association of Organisers of Resistance, War Veterans, Volunteers, First Fighters and Defenders “Bosnae – Green Berets” issued a statement to the public today in which they express support for the wartime Minister of Interior of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Alispahić.  

"We hereby call on all media that present themselves as patriotic to stop equating the aggressor and those who destroy our homeland with true, genuine defenders and patriots.

At a time when Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing separatist policies and attacks on the state of BiH and its territorial integrity and sovereignty, it is devastating that there are also media outlets that, at such a moment, place their private and personal interests above the interests of history and truth.

Witnessing the attacks on patriots and defenders of BiH who, in the moments of aggression, put themselves at the service without thinking about what tomorrow would bring, we feel a moral duty and patriotic obligation to react to the unfounded attacks on the wartime Minister of Interior Bakir Alispahić, as well as on his family, property and private life.

It is not that we are not used to seeing patriots being ridiculed in certain media and doubt cast on everything they did during the bloody aggression, a struggle in which they did not think about possible personal losses, but the attacks we have witnessed in recent days on the wartime Minister of Interior send a message that traitors who equate the aggressor and the defenders do not hesitate to achieve their goal and help separatists in the dismantling of the state.

We will never support an attack nor agree to equate victims and aggressors, nor accept the rewriting of history from the period of aggression.

During the aggression, people worked for the state and its creation and preservation; no one then asked what they would gain and what they would lose.

At this moment, mentioning the US blacklist on which Alispahić is placed because during the aggression he violated various world-imposed embargoes on arming the Army of the Republic of BiH and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of BiH to save the people and the state, and comparing it with today's blacklists made exclusively for the purpose of attacking the Dayton Peace Agreement and the territorial integrity of BiH, all related solely to corruption and crime, is extremely hypocritical and malicious.

We are certain that the wartime minister, Mr. Alispahić, just as then, would stand in defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina again, without asking what price he would pay; therefore, we give our voice to the public to stop equating us patriots with those who still nurture the ideology of aggression and destruction of our state, our only homeland", the statement of the Green Berets reads.
