'The RS healthcare system is a source of money for the authorities' needs'

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Regarding the Decision on the selection of the most favorable bidder for the procurement of the Integrated Information System (IZIS) in the healthcare of the BiH entity of Republika Srpska, which awards a contract worth 22,980,810 KM to the bidder group "MMSCODE" LLC Banja Luka, "LANACO" LLC Banja Luka, and "ERICSSON Nikola Tesla" Inc. Zagreb, the representative in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and president of the Health Council of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) Milan Švraka issued a written statement to the media:

"This is just one of many examples of how the healthcare of Republika Srpska is used as a source of 'easy' money for certain individuals and companies close to the authorities. 22 million for a system that already functions to some extent is unheard of! It borders on theft," Švraka said, reports Patria agency. Švraka further stated:

"The healthcare system in Republika Srpska already has the fundamental components of healthcare informatization, such as maintaining electronic health cards and issuing electronic prescriptions. Over 6 million KM has been allocated for this, and now they are trying to slip something under the table that costs 22 million? We know that neighboring countries, primarily Serbia, have paid for such systems for less than 5 million KM, and when you look at that, no one needs to be particularly intelligent to understand that this is a classic rigged tender with the aim of 'extracting' millions from healthcare, which will later end up who knows where",
