SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Employees in healthcare institutions of the Una-Sana Canton will go on a general strike.
This is the decision reached at this morning's meeting of representatives of trade union organizations of all healthcare institutions in USK.
They say they have exhausted all available mechanisms to obtain their earned wages and that the strike remains the only solution.
They emphasize that they do not believe there is a will in the regional politics to resolve the issue concerning around 2,000 healthcare workers in this canton.
„We need ten days to prepare the strike and comply with the legal procedure. The strike will not last more than ten days, and if the problem is not resolved, we are ready to make a decision on a collective resignation of workers employed in healthcare,“ said Elvir Hrustanović, acting president of the Independent Trade Union of Healthcare Workers of USK, for RTV USK.
