Healthcare workers in Tuzla go on general strike

TUZLA, (Patria) - A general strike begins today in all healthcare institutions in Tuzla, except for the University Clinical Center and the Health Center, BHRT reports.

However, the Health Center and the Clinical Center will hold a warning strike during the break, between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM, by coming out in front of the UKC and the Health Center, announced Admir Suljić, vice-president of the Federal SSDMiS, yesterday.

After the general strike of the Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of Tuzla Canton and the Union of these Unions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was banned, following a lawsuit by the University Clinical Center Tuzla, the Municipal Court, acting on the lawsuit of the Tuzla Health Center, also banned the strike announced for today in this institution.

Doctors say they will fight for their rights and announce a protest gathering for June 9 in Tuzla.
