Health workers in Konjic started receiving salaries

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Health workers of the Konjic Health Center and General Hospital, who stopped working due to unpaid salaries and contributions, were paid two overdue salaries today.

- Today, payments for two overdue salaries for the workers of these two healthcare institutions were made. Some were processed today, others will be in the accounts tomorrow, depending on the bank. We set the unblocking of the accounts of the General Hospital and the Health Center as a condition for resuming work. We still don't know if contributions were paid along with the salaries. For now, we are returning to work, and what will happen in the future remains to be seen – said Azra Mušinović, president of the branch of the Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of the Health Center and General Hospital Konjic.

The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina today unblocked the accounts of the Health Center and the General Hospital in Konjic, thus creating the conditions for the payment of salaries for 320 employees in these healthcare institutions, who last received their salary for July.

The accounts of the Health Center and the General Hospital were blocked due to a debt of 22 million KM for contributions that had not been paid since 2008.

The Federal Tax Administration signed an agreement with the management to postpone the payment of the debt for six months, and if the debts are not settled within that period, the accounts will be blocked again.
