(Patria) - The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) has published a Public Call for suppliers for the delivery and installation of equipment, within the framework of the Air Quality Improvement Project, which is being implemented with the support of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) - World Bank.
The goal of the Public Call is to form a list of qualified business entities that meet the prescribed technical, energy, and procedural requirements for implementing energy efficiency measures in the ZDK area.
The Public Call includes the following measures, divided into LOTs:
‣ LOT 1 - delivery and installation of pellet stoves and boilers with a capacity of up to 35 kW, including related equipment and construction works;

All offered equipment must meet the minimum energy efficiency requirements, valid European and domestic standards, as well as the conditions prescribed by the Public Call.
Suppliers included in the list of qualified entities will be able to participate in the implementation of individual energy efficiency projects for end-users, who will be selected through a separate public call.
Minister of Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection Adnan Šabani says that ZDK is the first administrative unit in BiH to systematically combat increasing air pollution.
- Thanks to previously implemented projects and the establishment of the Household Fireplace Register, the ZDK Government and the relevant ministry have secured eight million euros from the World Bank to combat air pollution, as well as significant financial support for citizens of all 12 municipalities and cities of ZDK.
The mentioned measures will be co-financed in the amount of 50 percent. According to the World Bank's announcements, if the project proves successful in the first six months of implementation, additional funds will be secured, given the great interest of citizens - Šabani said.
He adds that the ZDK Government, led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, has been maximally engaged from the very beginning and provides full support to the project, and that an extremely high-quality cooperation with World Bank representatives was achieved during the past year in the process of negotiations and finalization of the project.
- This project represents the pride of the entire ZDK Government and an important step towards a healthier and cleaner environment - Šabani emphasized.
All activities will be carried out in accordance with the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and the World Bank's Environmental and Social Standards (ESS), and an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) will be developed, which will be an integral part of the contractual obligations with the selected suppliers.
Applications are submitted within 30 days from the date of publication of the Public Call, in the manner and under the conditions precisely stated in the call itself. Applications submitted after the deadline or in an improper manner will not be considered.
