Increased Number of Patients in Emergency Room Due to Weather Fluctuations

Due to weather fluctuations, the number of patients in the Emergency Room has increased, said prim. dr. Ružica Mitić from the Sarajevo Emergency Room for the BH News Agency Patria.

- Weather changes affect everyone, and especially chronic patients. Particularly heart patients, asthmatics, diabetics, and those with rheumatism. Patients with high blood pressure experience fluctuations regardless of therapy. Spinal problems are also present, and meteoropaths feel the ailments even more strongly than other patients – says dr. Mitić for NAP.

There were no deaths in the last 24 hours, but as a precaution, doctors' recommendations should be followed.

- Patients should take their prescribed therapy, and when it is sultry, going out and moving around is not recommended. Due to high humidity, it represents a great burden, and our heart works as if under some physical exertion. Public transport should be avoided to prevent collapses – advise the Emergency Room.
