Due to snow, traffic suspended on seven road routes in BiH

(Patria) - Due to larger amounts of snow, traffic has been suspended for all categories of vehicles on seven roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BIHAMK announced.

These are the following road routes:

- Glamoč - Mlinište;

- Bosansko Grahovo - Drvar - Bosanski Petrovac;

- Drvar - Glamoč;

- Kupres - Blagaj;

- Kotor Varoš - Teslić (Borja);

- Banja Luka - Kneževo; and

- Bosanski Petrovac - Ključ.

On the road Tomislavgrad - Posušje and Ripač - Vrtoče (section Dubovsko - Lipa), traffic is suspended for freight vehicles.

Traffic is difficult on the section Tuzla - Srebrenik (Previle), Srednje - Olovo (Nišići), and on these sections the use of chains is mandatory for freight vehicles.

On the mountain pass Karaula (Olovo - Kladanj), freight vehicles over 10 tons cannot operate.

On the "9. januar" highway, as well as on main and regional roads in the RS, traffic is suspended for freight vehicles.

Snow is hindering traffic in most of Bosnia, while in Herzegovina the road surface is wet.

From BIHAMK, they particularly warn about sections over mountain passes, where there is packed snow on the road, and on these sections the use of chains is mandatory for freight vehicles.

Additional difficulties for drivers are caused by strong wind, which creates snowdrifts.

Due to the weight of snow on numerous sections, trees are frequently falling onto the road.

"We advise drivers not to set off on the road unless necessary, but if they do travel, not to set off without appropriate winter equipment.

Due to difficult winter conditions, traffic is suspended for freight vehicles at the border crossing Izačić.

At the border crossings Velika Kladuša and Gradiška, there are long queues of passenger vehicles at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At other border crossings, passenger vehicles do not wait longer than 30 minutes," they point out from BIHAMK.
