Due to the installation of a stage for the public New Year's Eve celebration, traffic regime changes in central Sarajevo begin on Friday

(Patria) - At the request of the City Administration of Sarajevo, the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton has given consent for a temporary change in the traffic regime for the public New Year's Eve 2025 celebration, which will be carried out by police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.

Traffic is prohibited in the two far left lanes of the permitted direction of travel in Marshal Tito Street, from the Eternal Flame to Radićeva Street, and part of the sidewalk on the left and right sides of the roadway, while the remaining part of the roadway: the far right lane – tracks and sidewalk, remain free for traffic, as follows:

- from December 27, 2024, at 09:00 until December 30, 2024, at 16:00;

- on December 31, 2024, from 06:00 to 16:00;

- from January 1, 2025, at 07:00 until January 2, 2025.

Traffic for motor vehicles is prohibited in the period from December 30, 2024, at 16:00 until December 31, 2024, at 06:00, as well as on December 31, 2024, from 16:00 until January 1, 2025, at 07:00:

- in Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street, from the junction with Pehlivanuša Street to the junction with Kaptol Street, and in Marshal Tito Street, from the junction with Kaptol Street to the junction with Radićeva Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Kulovića Street, from the junction with Branilaca Sarajeva Street to the junction with Marshal Tito Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Dalmatinska Street, from the junction with Mehmeda Spahe Street to the junction with Marshal Tito Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Trampina Street, from the junction with Mehmeda Spahe Street to the junction with Marshal Tito Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Radićeva Street, from the junction with Branilaca Sarajeva Street to the junction with Marshal Tito Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Kaptol Street, from the junction with Mehmeda Spahe Street to the junction with Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Ćemaluša Street, from the junction with Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street to the junction with Branilaca Sarajeva Street;

- prohibition of parking in Alije Isakovića Street, in the immediate vicinity of the junction with Marshal Tito Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Pruščakova Street, from the junction with Mehmeda Spahe Street to the junction with Marshal Tito Street;

- prohibition of traffic and parking in Šenoina Street, from the junction with Branilaca Sarajeva Street to the junction with Marshal Tito Street.

The prohibition does not apply to police, emergency and fire service vehicles, and escorted vehicles. Alternative routes during the traffic regime change are:

- Lapišnica – M-5 – Put Mladih Muslimana (for trucks and buses);

- Obala Kulina Bana – Bentbaša – M-5 – Put Mladih Muslimana (for trucks and buses);

- Sagrdžije – Telali – Safvet-bega Bašagića (for trucks);

- Sagrdžije – Kračule – Brodac – Obala Kulina Bana;

- Mula Mustafe Bašeskije – Pehlivanuša – Petrakijina – Mehmed-paše Sokolovića – Mejtaš – Čekaluša – Džidžikovac;

- Koševo – Marshal Tito;

- Branilaca Sarajeva – Mis Irbina – Musala – Marshal Tito;

- Branilaca Sarajeva – Mis Irbina – Reisa Džemaludina Čauševića – Obala Kulina Bana.

Citizens of Sarajevo Canton, as well as all guests, are reminded that from December 15 until January 15, enhanced controls of traffic participants are in effect, with a special focus on driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving a vehicle before obtaining the right to drive, the MUP KS announced.
