Due to decreased productivity during the World Cup, BiH lost $1.89 million

Bosnia and Herzegovina lost $1.89 million due to decreased worker productivity during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, according to a study by the financial company "SmartAsset", reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

This is by far the least of all participating countries in the World Cup in Brazil, and it is estimated that all countries combined lost $7.3 billion. The calculations were based on the number of lost hours due to watching matches, labor costs, total working hours, and the population of all participating countries.

Accordingly, the United States lost the most, $2.23 billion, followed by Brazil with $970 million. The consequences for the economy of Germany, the world champion, are estimated to be a loss due to decreased productivity of around $750 million, reports NAP.
