Traffic suspended at GP Gradiška due to bridge collapse

(Patria) - Traffic has been suspended at the Gradiška border crossing since last night due to the collapse of a part of the bridge. At other border crossings, passenger vehicle waiting times are currently between 10 and 30 minutes, BIHAMK announced.

The traffic flow on most road routes in Bosnia and Herzegovina is good this morning, with short delays occurring on sections where renovation works are underway and where traffic is regulated by temporary signage. We appeal to drivers to be as cautious as possible and to maintain a safe distance between vehicles. We also ask other road users to comply with all traffic regulations.

On the main roads: Dobro Polje-Miljevina, Tuzla-Bijeljina, and Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while it remains suspended for vehicles over 3.5 tons.

Due to road surface repair works, the A-1 highway section Kakanj-Lašva (3 km long) is closed, and vehicles are being diverted to use the opposite side of the highway in both directions.

On the A-1 highway sections Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi, Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica, and Počitelj-Bijača (in both directions over the Hercegovina bridge), traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane due to ongoing works.

Due to road surface repair works on the main road Kaonik-Busovača, traffic is slow between 08:30 and 15:30, with alternating vehicle passage.

On the main road border crossing Izačić-Bihać, bridge reconstruction works are being carried out. Vehicles are being diverted to a temporary bypass in the immediate vicinity of the works, with alternating passage.

Due to passenger registration under the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES), longer waiting times at border crossings are possible.

Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, Karakaj border crossing is open for all vehicle categories. Traffic for all heavy goods vehicles is prohibited at Šepak border crossing.
