The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina officially confirmed that in a photo of a group of young men taken on January 9, 2016, among whom are several in military uniforms and with weapons, there is also a member of the BiH Armed Forces, Dejan Petrušić, as the Patria agency previously reported.
- After checking the mentioned allegations, it was confirmed that in the disputed photo you provided, a member of the BiH Armed Forces - soldier Dejan (Milan) Petrušić was identified in civilian clothes and without weapons. The commander of the BiH Armed Forces unit where the named member is assigned has, in accordance with his legally prescribed authorities and obligations, already initiated an investigative disciplinary procedure to clarify and establish all relevant facts as well as any possible responsibility of the named individual - stated the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
We remind you that SIPA and the Ministry of Security of BiH have become involved in the entire case, working on identifying the persons in the photo, given that carrying military weapons by civilians is prohibited and constitutes a criminal offense.
The young men in the photo were celebrating January 9, the unconstitutional Day of Republika Srpska, by firing weapons and patrolling in vehicles on the Sokolac-Mokro road.
From the Ministry of Defense of BiH, they stated that they are „of the opinion that all members of the BiH Armed Forces must behave in accordance with the law, service rules in the BiH Armed Forces, and other applicable regulations that define and regulate life and work in the BiH Armed Forces, as well as behavior outside of service.“
