Will sport in Italy be suspended due to Coronavirus?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sports competitions in Italy will most likely be suspended until April 3, due to the Coronavirus.

The Assembly of the Italian Olympic Committee decided so today, following the recommendation of health institutions and the Ministry of Health, Italian media report.

For this decision to take effect, it must be confirmed by the Ministry of Sports. 

According to Italian media, the decision does not apply to international sports events, so matches of the Champions League and the Europa League should still be played.

From “CONI”, they called on the state leadership to consider the possibility of helping sports teams, which are losing a lot of money due to the Coronavirus. 

We remind you, Italy is the most affected EU member state by the emergence of the Coronavirus, and judging by the news, the situation in this country is quite dramatic.
