(Patria) - Due to numerous procedural and material errors, the BiH Court has returned the request for an international arrest warrant for RS President Milorad Dodik to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, Istraga.ba has learned.
The Prosecutor's Office, this portal has learned, has been ordered to submit a new, revised request for an international arrest warrant by the end of the day.
The request, signed by prosecutor Vedrana Mijović, sought an international arrest warrant for Dodik, Nenad Stevandić, and Radovan Višković, who are suspected of undermining the constitutional order of BiH.
With precisely such a request, the Prosecutor's Office made a major oversight by requesting an international arrest warrant for Stevandić and Višković, who are located in BiH. For this reason, the BiH Court returned the request for revision.
If the Prosecutor's Office submits a revised proposal, the BiH Court could issue an international arrest warrant for Dodik by tomorrow at the latest. However, this does not mean that the warrant will be immediately entered into the Interpol system.
The BiH Court, namely, forwards the arrest warrant to the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, within which the BiH branch of Interpol operates. After verifying that the arrest warrant meets the formal requirements, the documents will be sent to Interpol headquarters in Lyon.
At Interpol headquarters, it would then take several days to verify all allegations and supporting documents, after which Interpol headquarters would decide whether to include the arrest warrant for Dodik in its system.
However, there is also an objective problem in all of this. Dodik could return to BiH before the Interpol arrest warrant is entered into the Interpol system. In that case, the conditions for publishing the arrest warrant in the Interpol database would not be met.
According to current regulations, the Minister of Justice of BiH can also issue an international arrest warrant for Dodik. In this case, the minister is Davor Bunoza from the HDZ.
We remind you that the BiH Prosecutor's Office suspects RS President Milorad Dodik of the criminal offense of attack on the constitutional order.
A central search for Dodik, Stevandić, and Višković has been in effect since March 14. However, no police agency has arrested them.
In the meantime, Dodik traveled to Israel for a conference on antisemitism.
