Training of firefighters from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro completed in Kolašin

20 firefighters from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 20 from Montenegro completed their training today, which was held from May 28 to June 1 in the municipality of Kolašin, Montenegro, writes the news agency Patria.

This is an EU cross-border cooperation project in the field of fire protection and firefighting between BiH and Montenegro, involving ten municipalities from BiH (Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Stolac, Ravno, Trebinje, Bileća, Gacko, Foča, and Čajniče).
The training was conducted by instructors from the Republic of Croatia who have the necessary certifications in accordance with EU standards. A joint demonstration exercise will also be performed as part of the training.

The second phase of the training will continue in BiH later this year, after which the participants will receive certain certificates based on which they will be able to train members of the protection and rescue structure in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project also plans to procure equipment for firefighters from the municipalities participating in the project.
