Summer School for Children from Returnee Settlements in BiH Concluded

With a formal certificate awarding ceremony and speeches by the organizers, the Summer School for children from returnee settlements in Bosnia and Herzegovina concluded today in Sarajevo, reports the Patria News Agency.  

A total of 67 children from eight cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the Summer School: Odžak, Mrkonjić Grad, Zvornik, Vitez, Rudo, Gacko, Stolac, and Vareš.

On behalf of the organizers, the participants of the Summer School were addressed by the Director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Culture and Education "Izvor nade" (Source of Hope) Tarik Agetović, representative of the Foundation "Nova nada" (New Hope) Merjem Salihagić, and expert associate of the Office for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora at the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Muhamed Jugo.

During his address at the "Izvor nade" Student Dormitory, Agetović expressed great satisfaction with the achieved and implemented projects this year in the field of education improvement.

- I am particularly pleased by the fact that institutions such as the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH and the Office for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH have recognized this project. The goal of this project was to offer children something different, to bring them closer, to foster new friendships, and to introduce them to numerous landmarks of the capital city of our country, stated Agetović.

Omeragić: I liked the trip to Vrelo Bosne the most

The children experienced this year's program as a refreshing change and enjoyed all the activities prepared by the organizers.

- It was great. The activities we had went smoothly. We had sports activities where we could show what we know, says 13-year-old Benjamin Memišević, who attended this year's Summer School with three friends from the Križevići community, MIZ Zvornik.

- It was very nice. We went to different places, and I liked the trip to Vrelo Bosne the most. I would definitely recommend to my friends to come to such gatherings, said Amila Omeragić from the Strgačine community, MIZ Rudo.

Participants of this year's Summer School received certificates, and imams received commemorative gifts, it was announced from the Foundation for the Advancement of Education and Culture "Izvor nade" Sarajevo.
