Construction of New Building for the Municipal Court Branch in Olovo Completed

A ceremony was held in Olovo to mark the completion of the construction of the new building for the branch of the Municipal Court in Visoko. The funds for the construction were provided by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) through the Judicial Efficiency Improvement Project II, financed by the Government of Norway.

The value of the contract for the construction works on the new court branch building amounted to 621,610.33 BAM, and the cost of professional supervision services was 16,965.00 BAM. Additionally, the Project provided funds in the amount of 35,000 BAM for the procurement of furniture and equipment for the building. The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZE-DO Canton) allocated 169,190.00 BAM for the development of project documentation, issuance of necessary construction permits, utility connections, exterior landscaping, and the procurement of computer and audio equipment.

The new building of the Olovo Branch has approximately 600 m² of functionally organized space. It includes a modern registry and archive, two contemporary courtrooms, judges' offices, a detention unit within the judicial police area, and the entire space is equipped with new furniture. Adequate access for persons with disabilities has also been ensured. The court has received an energy-efficient building thanks to quality joinery, thermal insulation facade, and an energy-efficient pellet heating system, which is also environmentally friendly.

In his opening address, the Director of the Secretariat of the HJPC BiH, Admir Suljagić, thanked everyone who contributed to the planning, financing, organization, and construction of the new court branch building in Olovo, particularly highlighting the Government of Norway as the financier of the construction and equipment works. "The HJPC BiH will remain consistent and continue to advocate for securing funds for the reconstruction and modernization of judicial institution buildings in BiH in order to achieve greater efficiency in the work of courts and prosecutor's offices," emphasized Director Suljagić.

Addressing those present, the Minister of Justice and Administration of the ZE-DO Canton, Mirnes Bašić, expressed words of gratitude to the HJPC BiH and the Government of Norway, emphasizing that one of the strategic commitments of the Government of the ZE-DO Canton is to ensure the best possible physical conditions for the work of all judicial institutions in the area administratively covered by the ZE-DO Canton. An efficient judiciary, which will meet European standards as well as the expectations and needs of every citizen of the Canton, is a prerequisite for the success of any government, including that of the ZE-DO Canton.

The President of the Municipal Court in Visoko, Enes Behlulović, said that this is a special event celebrating the successful completion of the project to build the new court branch building in Olovo. President Behlulović also expressed gratitude to the HJPC BiH and the Government of Norway, pointing out that the Olovo Court Branch was previously housed in a building constructed in 1932, which was in extremely poor condition.

The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, representatives of judicial institutions, competent legislative and executive authorities, international institutions and organizations, and many guests.
