Exhumation completed in Potpećine: Remains of 11 victims exhumed, including two women

At the Potpećine grave site, in the Vlasenica municipality, the exhumation has been completed, and in the past few days, the remains of 11 victims have been exhumed, including the remains of two women, alongside whom parts of clothing and jewelry were found.

According to available information and evidence, these are Bosniak nationals killed in 1992.

The found remains have been transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla, where forensic medical processing will be carried out, and bone samples will be taken to determine the victims' identities through DNA analysis and to establish the cause of death.

The exhumation process at this location was led by an authorized investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, under the supervision of the acting prosecutor. The process of searching for and exhuming the remains involved officials from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, a forensic medicine expert, necessary workers and machinery, as well as police officers from the Vlasenica Police Station, who secured the location and conducted forensic-technical processing of evidence and the crime scene.
