Jubilee 50th Plum Fair in Gradačac Concluded

(Patria) - The 50th jubilee international fair of agriculture and food industry "Plum Fair" in Gradačac, which was held from August 23rd, closed today.

Over the past four days, more than 300 exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, countries of the region, France, and Turkey presented themselves on approximately 5,000 square meters.

The organizer of this jubilee fair event was the Tourist Board of the City of Gradačac, with the support of the City of Gradačac and numerous partners and sponsors.

As stated at the opening ceremony, this year's fair in Gradačac is an opportunity to be recognized for positive news, following the tragic event that occurred in this city.

- All planned activities have been realized. I believe we have benefited from the lectures at the expert-scientific consultation on agriculture and tourism, as well as beekeeping.

We are pleased that in the jubilee year, our exhibitors are satisfied with their participation in this fair event.

Although we canceled all entertainment programs due to the tragedy that recently befell our city, we are encouraged by the fact that numerous guests and tourists visited the city and the fairgrounds.

This shows that guests, exhibitors, and our fellow citizens love and gladly attend this event, regardless of the circumstances under which it is organized, and for that, we thank them once again sincerely - said Ensar Mešanović, head of the Tourist Office in Gradačac.

Among the many guests and friends of the Gradačac fair was Stjepan Mesić, former President of the Republic of Croatia.

- I am interested in many things, in what is happening around and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is something that is important for our entire region, important for Croatia, and important for Europe.

I am here at an economic gathering. If the economy is well organized, then it is also a political message. Therefore, I think it is most important for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be engaged in economic solutions, and through that, political issues are also resolved - said Mesić.

A call was made for joint engagement of all levels of government, science, expertise, and the agricultural and industrial sectors to ensure the necessary conditions for food production and marketing.

It was stated that the Gradačac fair is an opportunity to present achievements in the field of agriculture and the food industry.

Discussions were held on the use of new technologies in monitoring and protecting agricultural crops, the use of bioregulators, and modern food supply chains.

In addition to new software solutions, modern technologies, and the use of drones, agricultural machinery also holds a significant place.

This year again, the Plum Fair medals were awarded for the quality of exhibited products.

The beekeepers' association "Pčela" (Bee) Gradačac organized the 6th international beekeeping fair, which was held as a sub-fair event during the Plum Fair days.
