Zavidovići solved waste disposal, a project demonstrating transparency in public spending

Minister for Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection of Zenica-Doboj Canton Arnel Isak, together with the Mayor of Zavidovići Hašim Mujanović and the Director of Public Utility Company "Radnik" Zavidovići Amer Halilović, ceremonially opened the first automatic municipal waste transfer station in Bosnia and Herzegovina this Wednesday.

This is a project that has solved the problems of waste disposal for the entire municipality of Zavidovići, and significant funds for the project's implementation were also provided by the Ministry for Spatial Planning, Traffic and Communications and Environmental Protection of Zenica-Doboj Canton. Specifically, the total project cost 570,000 KM, of which 90,000 KM was invested by this ministry.

At the opening ceremony itself, Minister Arnel Isak emphasized that he was honored and pleased to attend this ceremony, and that such projects significantly improve the fight for environmental protection. The collection, disposal, and transport of municipal waste have been significantly improved in this way, and the harmful impact on the environment has been reduced. This is proof that Zenica-Doboj Canton and the municipality of Zavidovići have bravely tackled projects for the proper handling of municipal waste.

This project is, in fact, one of the best examples of how funds from public calls and funds should be justified, and it should become a practice to see the final part of the project, how and where citizens' funds were invested, some of which also come from the ministry I lead, said Minister Isak in his address to those present.

Furthermore, Minister Arnel Isak stated that in the future, the ministry he heads will allocate significant funds for municipal waste management projects, as it is both a local and regional problem that needs to be solved so that we, as a community, can enjoy the benefits of a clean environment and a healthy living space in the future.
