By stopping divisions, we can build a BiH for all of us

- By stopping divisions, we can build a BiH for all of us - is the main message of today's gathering of candidates for mayors and city mayors, and candidates for councilors, which officially marked the beginning of the election campaign of the Social Democratic Party of BiH for the upcoming local elections.

The Vrace Memorial Park was chosen as the starting point for the campaign, as a symbol of the fight against all divisions among peoples, which have become increasingly topical in Bosnia and Herzegovina recently, reports the Patria News Agency.

- We are aware that this campaign has already been compromised by the current political situation in the country and that at all levels of government we have political forces that cannot agree on anything except the ethnic division of our country. The SDP BiH will never agree to any division of BiH; it has never been possible to negotiate with us about it. The current story about the referendum on Republika Srpska is precisely the result of the government we have, a government that is preoccupied with itself - said Nermin Nikšić, president of SDP BiH.

During these elections, the SDP will send messages of peace and coexistence, messages of equality for all citizens in all parts of BiH, which is also the basis of the slogan for these local elections.

- We will visit all parts of BiH and promote our local programs there. In municipalities and cities where mayors and city mayors are from the SDP, we have proven that they can and want to be mayors and city mayors for all citizens. Based on their successful results, we want to show that BiH can be different. We must focus on the life problems of citizens, and they must be resolved as soon as possible.

We invite everyone to discuss real-life problems, to build communities where there will be a place for all of us, regardless of who they are and what their names are. I invite everyone to create new jobs and compete in who will create better living and working conditions, not to compete in who is a greater Bosniak, Serb, or Croat - Nikšić concluded.

Some of the SDP candidates for mayors and city mayors also presented their programs during this gathering, stating in their presentations that by strengthening the local economy, through more active participation of local authorities and greater use of budgets and other sources of financing, employment can be increased in most cities and municipalities across BiH.
