Detention requested for MUP RS inspectors for accepting bribes

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The prosecutor of the Special Department of the RS Prosecutor's Office for the Suppression of Corruption, Organized and the Most Serious Forms of Economic Crime will request detention for Banja Luka inspectors N.G. and J.F., due to the existence of a well-founded suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of "accepting bribes".

They were arrested as part of an operation codenamed "Sirano", on suspicion of taking a bribe of 20,000 KM.

The RS Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the prosecutor will propose the measure of detention due to the well-founded fear that the suspects, if released, will destroy, hide, alter or falsify evidence or traces important for the criminal proceedings, or obstruct the criminal proceedings by influencing witnesses, accomplices or concealers.

Detention will be requested due to the seriousness of the criminal offense, the manner of its commission and its consequences, and because the release of the suspects would result in a real threat to the disruption of public order.
