(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament adopted amendments to the Law on the Council of Ministers of BiH at today's session.
According to this proposal, submitted by Jasmin Emrić, a representative of NES, the House of Representatives has the right to propose a candidate for the appointment of a minister in case a person resigns or is dismissed, and the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH does not propose a new candidate within the legal deadline of 14 days.
Currently, only the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, can propose a minister.
The parties of the Trojka (SDP BiH, NiP, and Naša stranka) voted for the amendments in the House of Representatives, while the representatives of HDZ BiH and SNSD were against them. The amendments were adopted thanks to the votes of SDA, DF, NES, SDS, PDP, and the List for Justice and Order.
For this law to enter into force, it must also be voted on in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament. Specifically, it needs the support of eight out of fifteen delegates, with at least two from each of the three constituent peoples' clubs.
