House of Representatives of PSBiH Adopts Resolution Condemning All Forms of Neo-Fascism and Affirming Anti-Fascist Heritage and Values

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH today adopted a Resolution condemning all forms of neo-fascism and affirming anti-fascist heritage and values, proposed by representatives Saša Magazinović and Jasmin Imamović.

The Resolution was adopted with 31 votes in favor and one vote against.

1. We emphasize that the historical and value orientation of the peoples and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina is based, among other things, on anti-fascism and the fight against fascist regimes, occupation, and all domestic collaborators of these regimes;

2. We most strongly condemn any form of glorification, justification, or relativization of fascist regimes, their ideologies, symbols, and greetings, as well as the glorification of the actions of domestic collaborators and allies of the Nazi and fascist occupiers;

3. We call on institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to consistently sanction hate speech and public display of symbols representing fascist regimes and their helpers within their jurisdiction, and to consistently apply the legal tools to prevent all phenomena of neo-fascism;

4. We express lasting respect for all victims of fascist terror, and we commit to nurturing a culture of remembrance and educating young generations about the consequences of fascist ideologies;

5. We affirm our commitment to European anti-fascist heritage and democratic values, human rights, and the dignity of every human being, and we reject any ideology that advocates racial, religious, or national exclusivity;

6. This Resolution enters into force on the day of its adoption and will be published in the Official Gazette of BiH.

In connection with the adopted Resolution, proposers Saša Magazinović and Jasmin Imamović gave a joint statement.

- We consider it very important that at a time of neo-fascist assaults that we are witnessing in the world, but also in our country, the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament adopts a stance that strongly condemns all forms of neo-fascism, fascist symbols and greetings, as well as the glorification of the actions of collaborators of fascist occupiers - Ustaše, Chetniks, members of the Handžar Division, and others.

We are pleased that a large majority of votes expressed respect for the victims of fascist terror, but also confirmed the commitment to European anti-fascist heritage.

In a time of tensions, it is a great thing when everyone comes together to support such a document that will be published in the Official Gazette of BiH, and information about the Resolution and its adoption will also be forwarded to our international partners, primarily the bodies of the European Union - stated Magazinović and Imamović.
