House of Representatives of PSBiH: Serbs Against Money for RS Hospitals, Blockades to the Detriment of Citizens

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun a session at which 48 agenda items are to be considered. Representatives from SNSD, SDS, United Srpska, Socialist Party, DNS, and PDP have previously taken the stance that they will block decision-making in state institutions until a law is passed to remove foreign judges from the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Denis Zvizdić, put on the agenda the request of representative Dragan Mektić for the urgent consideration of the Bill on the Termination of the Mandate of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH in its current composition.

The Bill proposes that the mandate of the current members of the HJPC of BiH shall cease on June 15, 2020, and that judicial bodies, bar associations, and BiH institutions that elect HJPC members shall complete the process of electing new HJPC members of BiH no later than June 8, 2020.

Also on the agenda is the approval for the ratification of Amendment No. 3 to the Financing Agreement concluded between Bosnia and Herzegovina (borrower), Republika Srpska, and the European Investment Bank (Bank) on October 5, 2011, in Luxembourg and October 25, 2011, in Sarajevo, with subsequent amendments and additions from time to time / RS Hospitals. 

Representatives from RS were also against this in the competent committees, which directly harms the citizens of the Republika Srpska entity.

Representatives are also to approve the ratification of the Financing Agreement and Project between Bosnia and Herzegovina (recipient), represented by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, and Republika Srpska (Republika Srpska), represented by the Ministry of Finance and the City of Gradiška (project implementation agency), represented by the Mayor, and KfW, Frankfurt am Main (KfW), in the amount of EUR 10,266,845.46 – Wastewater Collection and Treatment Gradiška – Phase 1, as well as approving the ratification of Amendment No. 1 to the Financing Agreement concluded between Bosnia and Herzegovina (borrower), Republika Srpska, and the European Investment Bank (Bank) on December 27, 2016, in Sarajevo and December 29, 2016, in Luxembourg and Banja Luka / RS Hospitals – B.
