MPs demand answers from Uk about new ministers: Who was fired for abusing sick leave, which party does Bojan Bošnjak belong to

(Patria) - After the presentation by Prime Minister Nihad Uk, MPs in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton posed a series of questions to the premier from various departments.

MPs asked when certain projects would be completed, how much the reconstruction of the tram line cost, and what is happening with the Ninth Transversal project.

The head of the SDA caucus, Mahir Dević, asked whether it was true that the candidate for Minister of Higher Education, Adna Mesihović (formerly Bešić), had her employment contract terminated at her previous job due to "abuse of sick leave."

MP Muamer Bandić (SBiH) asked Prime Minister Uk when the office in Srebrenica would become operational.

"According to the exposé, it was promised that the office would become operational ahead of the commemoration of the genocide anniversary. The director there has not yet been appointed, so I ask when it will happen and when the office will become operational," Bandić asked.

He also inquired when the director of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs (KUIP) would be appointed, but in accordance with the law.

MPs also had a number of questions regarding the healthcare sector and how to improve it, as problems are evident.

SDA MP Haris Zahiragić asked whether the candidate for Minister of Communal Economy, Bojan Bošnjak, is a member of any political party and what his qualifications are to lead this department.

"He has held various positions; is he a member of HDZ, the People's Party Working for Betterment, and if not, since when has he not been?"

Most of the questions were posed by opposition MPs.

Uk stated that Bošnjak was a member of NSRzB until 2015, and since then he has not been a member of any political entity.

Regarding the director of KUIP, Uk said that the tender procedure is in its final phase.

He admitted that the director of the Office for Srebrenica had not been appointed because the successful candidate did not submit the required documentation, and a new tender has been issued.

Speaking about the Office for the Fight against Corruption and Quality Management of the Sarajevo Canton, he said it is a professional service of the Cantonal Government, and efforts will be made to make it an independent institution.
