MPs Criticize Borjana Krišto and Ministers for Not Attending House of Representatives Sessions

(Patria) - At today's emergency session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, Minister of Justice Davor Bunoza (HDZ BiH) stated that the amendments to the Law on the HJPC aim to prevent any stagnation in the BiH judiciary.

“With these amendments, we are also regulating that all appointed persons from March onwards can assume their duties,” said Bunoza.

During the debate on the urgency of the procedure, MPs expressed criticism of the amendments to this law.

“There is no reason to extend anything, as there are no sanctions for anything. No one will be held accountable for violating the previous deadline. It is clear that obstruction of all normal processes is underway when it comes to the judiciary. It is in such a mire that it will never get out,” said MP Mladen Bosić.

8 MPs voted for the urgent procedure.

SDA MP Šerif Špago said that he had previously warned that such a situation would arise.

“It seems the goal is to collapse the judicial system. SDA will support these amendments. I am saddened by the fact that we do not have the people or sectors to assess what needs to be done for the law to function, instead of changing it two or three times a year, and the deadline for adopting a new law is approaching. Our executive branch is accountable to political representatives, not to the MPs who elect them,” said Špago.

MPs also criticized the absence of the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and ministers from almost every session, while praising Bunoza for being present at almost every session. MP Safet Kešo stated that neither Krišto nor the ministers respect the Rules of Procedure, which stipulate that they must attend sessions, and that the explanation cannot be "previously undertaken obligations".

SNSD announced that they will support the amendments to this law, but only because Minister Bunoza explained why the adoption of these amendments is important.

The Bill on Amendments to the Law on Public Procurement, proposed by Saša Magazinović, Predrag Kožul, Sabina Ćudić, and Nihad Omerović, is also on today's emergency agenda.

DF MP Zlatan Begić (DF) stated that he only became acquainted with this law today.

On today's agenda is also the Bill on the Budget of BiH Institutions and International Obligations for 2024.
