MPs Boban and Čengić paid tribute to the victims in Vukovar

(Patria) - MPs in the Parliament of the Federation of BiH Ivan Boban and Irfan Čengić paid tribute to the victims of the crimes that occurred in Vukovar on the 30th anniversary of Vukovar's suffering. 

"Vukovar is a heroic city and a place of special reverence, where we bowed to the innocent victims of the crimes. Vukovar and the people of Vukovar deserve to be remembered for everything that happened and to do everything to ensure that such suffering never, anywhere, and to anyone is repeated," Boban emphasizes. 

They believe that the example of Vukovar showed what evil can happen where destructive nationalist politics are not recognized and prevented in time. And that unfortunately, Vukovar was not a sufficient warning for the crimes that followed in these areas later. 

"New generations of politicians must have the courage to sincerely pay tribute to the victims of other nations as well, not just the victims of the nation to which they belong; this is the only path to the future, to remember and not repeat crimes," Čengić pointed out. 

Čengić also emphasizes that politicians from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia must insist that all those who planned and committed crimes should be held accountable. Also, politicians must emphasize that there are no collective guilt or genocidal nations, and respect court verdicts, thereby creating preconditions for the normal life of citizens and a better future in these areas.
