Deputies to Take Oath on December 6, Majority Still Not Agreed

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The constitutive session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been scheduled for December 6.

The agenda includes three items: the solemn declaration of deputies; the election of the Chair, First Deputy Chair, and Second Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives; and the election of members of the Commission for the Preparation of the Election of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The constitution of the House of Peoples at the state level will await a decision from the Central Election Commission or the Constitutional Court, as it is directly linked to the filling of the House of Peoples at the level of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Who will form the future government in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains uncertain, as does how long citizens will wait for Bosnian politicians to agree on the distribution of seats. For this very reason, it is not known who will make up the Collegium in this term. It is possible that the session will be adjourned after the oath is taken.

Given that on Monday, the SDA, SDP, DF, and Our Party have a meeting, we might perhaps get a hint of who will form the majority, at least when it comes to the state level of government. Admittedly, there have been no talks yet with parties from the RS, and for any decision in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity majority is necessary.

This constitutive session of the House of Representatives will be chaired by Nada Mladina, an SDP deputy. This honor fell to Mladina as the oldest elected representative. She was born in Tuzla in 1947. She specialized in pediatrics. She was elected as a councilor in the Tuzla City Council for two terms.

After the solemn declaration, deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will adjourn the session, and the election of the house leadership and members of the commission for the preparation of the election of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as agenda items of the constitutive session that are mandatory according to the house's Rules of Procedure, will be considered at another session.

The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has 42 members, two-thirds of whom are directly elected from the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and one-third from the territory of the Republika Srpska. A quorum consists of a majority of all members elected to the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
