(Patria) - After two decades of active political engagement, MP in the Assembly of Tuzla Canton Amila Hodžić has decided to leave the Social Democratic Party.
- This decision was not easy. I have been reconsidering it for a long time and made it after being convinced that I can no longer agree with the decisions and policies of individuals that harm a party with a century-old tradition. I am sorry that my voice for urgently needed changes was not heard by those who should have heard it, and the public is aware of the wrong decisions of the SDP leadership. Nevertheless, my commitment to social democratic values, namely justice, equality and solidarity, remains unquestionable. I am not in politics to pursue personal material interests, as people in the community where I live know me. I have been working half my life exclusively for the benefit of the social community - Hodžić stated.
I will continue to advocate for projects and initiatives that bring better living conditions for citizens, she emphasized.
- I am not giving up on my political beliefs, nor on the values that have guided me throughout my entire political path.
My energy is directed towards the future. I still believe in politics that serves people. I believe that the true strength of politics is measured by the courage to persevere in one's own principles - Hodžić underlined.
This is the second significant departure from the SDP BiH in the last few months. MP in the Parliament of FBiH from TK Hajrudin Kozarević moved to the Democratic Front in September.
