MP Haračić demands special session of FBiH Parliament due to air pollution

Federal MP Amra Haračić warned the Parliament and the Government of FBiH that measuring devices last week showed poor air quality in almost all cities in FBiH, and that the authorities must seek solutions to this problem.

Haračić reminded that Article 3 of the federal Law on Environmental Protection stipulates that every person in FBiH has the right to a healthy and ecologically acceptable environment as a fundamental human right, but that this right is being violated in the Federation.

- The Parliament, as the highest legislative body in the Federation, must ensure that this right of citizens is respected in Tuzla, Lukavac, Zenica, Sarajevo, Kakanj, Jajce and other cities - she said in a statement to Patria.

- I have already addressed the Federal Ministry of Environment twice. In April, I also organized a round table on the catastrophic air condition in Lukavac. Unfortunately, this problem has still not been resolved - says Haračić.

- Environmental protection is a shared responsibility of cantonal and federal authorities. It is necessary for the FBiH Parliament to schedule a thematic session to determine the direct impact of this situation on human health - Haračić believes, Patria reports.
