Why are politicians playing with the people: Extraordinary elections impossible in BiH

Announcements of extraordinary elections in RS raise serious questions. This is simply not possible according to the BiH Constitution or the state Election Law. That is why many are asking today why the Alliance for Change is proposing this?

Dodik, of course, agrees, but is aware that there is no legal basis for such a thing.

Early elections are only possible in the circumstances of the dissolution of the National Assembly of RS, but it seems impossible that the majority that SNSD has in parliament would give up power.

Extraordinary elections are only possible for the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, by a decision of the Presidency or the House itself. On the other hand, there is no dissolution of the House of Representatives under any circumstances. Therefore, there are no extraordinary elections in BiH, and early elections are almost impossible.

What is the opposition in RS looking for then?

Many suspect that a state of chaos and division, similar to what is happening in Montenegro, is intended here.

Even if elections were held in RS through some magical move, it would only thicken the entity borders in this country.

Dodik is faced with a new situation today, to abide by the law and defend the BiH Constitution. That illegal and unconstitutional referendum still hangs over his head like a double-edged sword. The opposition's demands for extraordinary elections show him that there can be no double standards before the law.      

Violation of the Constitution and the Election Law in BiH will not pass under any circumstances.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only country in Europe where extraordinary elections are not possible. However, for days now, the political leadership has been seriously discussing changes to the Election Law, and discussions on this issue are ongoing.

Unfortunately, the impossibility of extraordinary elections deepens any crisis and makes it difficult to resolve. Extraordinary elections would mean greater responsibility for political elites. Political responsibility is the key material for a more cohesive BiH.
